Clouds, precipitation and radiation - MTG-CPP products

The Cloud Physical Properties (CPP) algorithm is being developed at KNMI to derive cloud, precipitation and radiation products from satellite instruments such as FCI onboard the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellite. The CPP algorithm development is largely done inside EUMETSAT's Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring (CM SAF), but also in other research projects. Cloud mask and cloud-top height are retrieved using the Nowcasting SAF (NWC SAF) GEO software.

This is the successor of this MSG-based dataset: https://dataplatform.knmi.nl/dataset/msg-cpp-products-1-0. It is based on MTG instead of MSG measurements, and has a higher resolution in space (2x2 versus 3x3 km sub-satellite) and time (10 versus 15 minutes). The algorithms, contents and characteristics are otherwise very similar.
